The miswak

A gift from nature with a story to tell.

The miswak is cut from the fibrous roots and branches of the Salvadora Persica tree, also known as the Arak or Peelu tree. Our miswak is hand-picked and cut from plantations just outside of Karachi in Pakistan and vacuum-sealed to retain moisture and freshness.

Studies have shown that the miswak contains natural antimicrobial properties that help clean and whiten teeth, without the need for water or toothpaste. These properties include natural abrasives, antiseptics, astringent, enzyme inhibitors, and fluoride.

The miswak is considered to be the oldest toothbrush in history. It has been used for centuries in the Middle East, North Africa, and Central & Southeast Asia. In Islam, it is considered "sunnah", referring to an essential manner of life recommended by the Prophet (PBUH).
